Minnesota PBS Learn Academies
Your afterschool program is all about exploration, learning, and fun. So are Minnesota PBS Learn Academies! For over a decade, Minnesota PBS has partnered with afterschool sites to engage youth with STEM and creative activities as well as empower staff to foster science learning year-round.
Our Learn Academies team visits afterschool sites like yours to lead hands-on STEM and creative activities for youth while providing resources and support for staff. It’s fun, free, and filled with children’s favorite PBS KIDS content.
JOIN US as we kick off our 2026-2027 Learn Academies adventure!
- Kick Off Training: Participating leaders and educators learn how to seamlessly integrate PBS-based STEM activities into existing programming. Can’t attend? We’ll provide online resources.
Monthly Minnesota PBS Visits: Our education specialists will visit your site to lead a hands-on STEM activity, offering in-person support and encouragement to youth and staff.
- Activity Guide: In addition, we’ll provide a second activity, including materials and instructions, for staff to lead independently.
PBS KIDS Focus: Programming will include STEM activities from favorite and trusted shows like Nature Cat, Phoebe & Jay, Weather Hunters, and Book Drop.Family Fun: Throughout the year, Minnesota PBS will provide at-home learning resources. With your help, we will celebrate the end of the school year with a family celebration.Summer Programming: In June-August, Learn Academies jump from afterschool sites to local libraries, welcoming all youth and families to enjoy STEM.
